As the rain washes away the last of the winter bite, spring has settled in with blooms that are big and bright.
Just as nature gives to us freely as the seasons change and spring comes, we can also follow its lead.
Somewhere along the way, there was a May Day basket tradition—tiny gifts left on doorsteps, like joy with no return address.
Paying it forward brings joy to others without being seen or acknowledged most times. The idea behind it is simply to spread joy or give a tiny offering of care.
What if you could give someone else a modern May Day gift?
Maybe it’s a kind message on a post-it note left for someone to discover, or a door held open just long enough to let someone else go first. Sometimes it’s a random compliment that becomes the brightest part of someone’s day.
The smallest gestures often bring a light into a stranger’s day. That small light given by sharing can inspire others to freely share in their joy.
As spring came in, we woke up slowly so that we could now awaken the joy in others.
You are not missing any opportunity, and there is no competition to finish. Allow yourself to participate simply for the idea.
As the spring blooms open wide, they share the idea of bringing a little sparkle to someone’s day.
Maybe you have already shared some joy today, and if you have, I’d love to hear about it.
From my road to yours, happy wandering.
