I watch the limbs of a tree sway in the breeze, with the newly budded white flowers fluttering along the branches. I can feel the sun on my skin.
Without much thought, I go outside to feel the breeze. As I step out of the house, I close my eyes and turn my face towards the sun.
I stand on the lawn with bare feet, letting the grass tickle my toes.
Have you ever noticed the pull to nature and how it is always there?
In the Everyday
I feel closest to nature in the small moments throughout the day. Sometimes, it’s as simple as this.
Sit in the car and linger. Feel the warmth of the sun settling on your skin.
Feel the rough texture of tree bark under your hand when you’re out for a walk.
Hear the tapping of rain drops on your windows or roof.
Watch the clouds move without tracking time. Guess the shapes.
They’re easy to miss, but they’re always there.
Always There
I’ve noticed it isn’t tied to where you are. It is in how you feel the sun or hear the rain.
It shows up throughout the day, wherever you are.
Nature is your companion, with its cool air, rough textures, and warmth.
If you notice a moment today, share your favorite way to connect with nature.
From my road to yours, happy wandering.
