Some of my favorite moments come from being still and watching the way the light hits the ground or feeling how the breeze moves along my skin.
That warm fuzzy feeling of joy that comes with being happy in that moment. Maybe it’s the way the air feels a little softer, or the quiet rustle of something nearby.
Have you ever noticed a moment of stillness like that? Maybe outside, or near a window, where everything feels just a little quieter and you’re completely present, in the moment, and wanting to keep a piece of it.
If you notice yourself wanting to remember it, keep that moment of awareness close, maybe writing it down, taking something you find, or snapping a photo.
You may not realize what those moments are until later but what if you gather without any purpose at first?
Like a magpie, gather little things that draw your attention such as a leaf, bead, twig, or feather. Anything that pulls you to it, and makes you smile or your hand feel itchy (in a good way)!
There is no correct or perfect way to find things. Anything that draws you to it, by sight or touch.
Your items don’t need any other purpose except to exist. You may want to shift them around to see how they look together. You may find yourself using them for something creative or leaving them at peace to be pretty and kept nearby.
Sometimes an item may draw your attention but you have that feeling that you’re not quite sure what it should become.
Let it sit, forget about it for a while or temporarily, and let the direction come to you.
Just remember, the item drew you to it for maybe some unknown reason. You can leave it for someone else to find or take it and use it when the time feels right.
If you feel like it, snap a photo of what you gathered or made with your new finds and share it here.
From my road to yours, happy wandering.
