In a season where finances feel tighter and dreams can feel easier to let go of, planning an adventure might seem like something saved for “someday.” But what if adventure didn’t have to mean a plane ticket or a big getaway?
Not all adventures need a passport. Sometimes the best journeys start with a pencil and a blank page.
I invite you to map your year with flexibility and a little creativity. Start with today or next month. Begin by imagining the moments you want to make space for, planning with intention and within your reality. A trip to a new park can be an adventure all its own, especially with kids. Maybe it’s a place where you notice birdsong, local wildlife, or a quieter rhythm than usual. Maybe it’s something creative you’ve been meaning to try. You might even try looking up your town like a tourist and see what free or simple options you never noticed before to include on your “map.”
Write those ideas down. Let them exist exactly as they are.
Once you have a few, draw a simple “map” for the year. Boxes, arrows, a winding path, even a yellow brick road. One page or several taped together. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Use markers, colored pencils, or your kids’ crayons. This isn’t about getting it right. It’s about making possibility visible.
When you’re ready, share the first adventure you’re penciling in for 2026. Big or small, it all counts.
From my road to yours, happy wandering.
